Judyta Murzyn, native of Poland, is a multiple woodwinds performer and an educator; fluent in classical, jazz as well as folk music. She has recently finished her master’s degree in multiple woodwinds pedagogy and performance at Ohio University. While at Ohio University she has held a teaching assistant position, and has taught music appreciation, saxophone methods, applied saxophone, and saxophone quartet. Ms. Murzyn has played the saxophone with the top jazz band and jazz combo, clarinet with the wind ensemble and symphony orchestra, while taking applied flute, bassoon, and oboe lessons.
Ms. Murzyn also holds a master’s degree in classical saxophone performance from Oklahoma State University where she was awarded a teaching assistantship position. She has taught saxophone quartet, music theory, and applied saxophone. While at Oklahoma State Ms. Murzyn has won MTNA chamber music competition, southwest division and performed in the final round in New York City. Outside of school she was a woodwind player with the Guthrie Theater, Sinatra cover band, and a jazz combo.
As an undergraduate student at Oklahoma City University Ms. Murzyn has won OCU concerto competition as well as New York Summer Music Festival concerto competition, and later that year she was awarded the first place in Lady’s Music Club solo competition.
Ms. Murzyn is currently residing in Phoenix, Arizona where she teaches preK-6 music at Pioneer Preparatory School, and plays the saxophone with the 108th Arizona National Guard Band.
